Victoria University and Beijing Jiaotong ERP Graduates "Hot Property"

Victoria University’s Master of Business in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems has run for three years in partnership with Beijing Jiaotong University (China, BJU) and has proven to be an employment success for its graduates.

ERP systems are large complex information systems that are used to manage many of the business transactions of companies. Victoria University has been a partner with the market leading ERP vendor SAP for eight years. This partnership has enabled the university to utilise many SAP solutions in its curriculum. The Masters program offers a comprehensive approach to the implementation use and strategy issues associated with ERP systems. In China SAP has experienced 100% growth over the last three years and this has resulted in a significant shortage in SAP related skills.

The first intake of 25 students into the VU-BJU masters program have now graduated and have been snapped up by some China’s major companies. A graduate program has been established in China between Accenture, one of the world’s leading ERP consulting company, and VU/BJU. Competition is so keen for the graduates that many students gained employment before the completion of their studies. Students have now entered many workplaces from the programs, including:

• Three students employed in China’s leading bank,
• Four graduates from the first course being employed by Accenture.

Other employees include:

• China Merchant Bank,
• Michelin China,
• China Air Express,
• PriceWaterhouseCoopers China,
• Samsung,
• Agricultural Bank of China, and,
• South West Securities.

The partnership between VU and BJU and is enhanced when large global organizations select graduates from the innovative Masters in ERP.

Victoria University is investigating offering the course in partnership with other universities in China to help satisfy the demand for graduates.
