The Centre for Tourism and Services Research conducts high quality, cost-effective research that meets the needs of industry and helps Australia's tourism industry grow. It also provides specialist advice to academic researchers and industry.
In recent years, the Centre has established key partnerships with industry. In particular, its links to Tourism Victoria, the City of Melbourne and Parks Victoria ensure the Centre remains relevant and in touch with current needs.
Another important relationship is the Centre's association with the Sustainable Tourism Co-operative Research Centre (STCRC). This relationship has enabled the CHTR to work collaboratively with its STCRC partners and several Australian universities to complete a wide range of projects. The CHTR's expertise includes events, food and wine, small and medium tourism enterprises, destination management, tourism economics, tourism planning, tourism marketing and E-tourism.
External funding is provided by a range of industry bodies, including associations and private organisations, as well as state and federal tourism bodies and their agencies.
Professor Leo Jago is director of the Centre. |
