The Victoria Law School's undergraduate program has a commercial orientation, particularly towards international commerce, in line with employment opportunities for law graduates. The law degree qualifies graduates for admission to practise as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria upon completion of articles of clerkship, or an equivalent practical professional admission course. Admission to practise in Victoria allows the graduate to apply for admission as a legal practitioner of the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia, as well as the Supreme Courts of other states and territories. 

A law degree may also be undertaken as a combined degree course in conjunction with courses offered by VU's Faculty of Arts or the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology.
