Many of the students who undertake our courses have extensive work experience including SAP knowledge before enrolling in the course.  This enriches the learning experience of all students involved.

Our ERP graduates have been successful in gaining employment in a range of specialist fields of ERP/SAP. A cross-section of companies where our graduates have been employed and their job titles are listed below:

Mahad Hussein

Mahad Hussein

Accenture Australia (SAP Supply Chain Management Consultant)

The Masters of Business in ERP Systems course was very pivotal in kick starting my SAP career, as I was presented with a myriad of opportunities upon completion. I began my SAP career at Jasper Coffee tasked with implementing SAP Business One in a Project Management role. Ten months later, I was offered a position at Accenture Australia in their niche SAP Supply Chain Management practice. I have since worked with blue-chip clients such as BHP Billiton, AGL and George Weston Foods implementing SAP solutions. I am currently the SAP MM Lead at a large utilities company.

How did VU help me achieve this success? The range of niche functional and technical SAP subjects meant I always had the extra edge over those aspiring for a career in SAP. Firms such as IBM and Accenture are now competing for VU graduates from the ERP Masters course with the realization that VU Graduates are more likely to hit the ground running when placed into an SAP role.

Rohit Nangia

Rohit Nangia

SAP Basis and Database Administration Specialist, Harvey Norman

Rohit previously worked on both SAP and Oracle PeopleSoft systems for the Australian Public Service, which provided him "with great exposure to the technical side of SAP and PeopleSoft as well as gaining experience working on various projects for the Public Service.

I believe the combination of my knowledge gained through strong qualifications in ERP and SAP from Victoria University has provided me with the professional knowledge and complex problem solving ability that one needs to deal with in an ERP environment.

I liked the course for its well structured workshops and technical installations; presentations and research assignments helped me understand ERP systems from both functional and technical perspectives. Communications with course coordinator and workshop tutors were flexible, supportive and very motivating.

In my current position, the knowledge and experience that I share today within ERP environment were actually gained from subjects like Client Server Technology, SAP HR and ERP Implementation. Gaining my ERP Masters degree from Victoria University was a remarkable learning experience."

“VU’s functional and technical expertise in specific area’s such as SAP Workflow, business process engineering and SAP configuration enabled me to propose business cases to the multinationals for streamlining and automating their administrative processes successfully. VU’s ideal location (City campus) and evening lecture times enabled me to increase my SAP knowledge across area’s I would not have normally covered in my daily job. My focus is currently on using SAP’s portal technology to access the complete BI (Business Intelligence) portfolio for users.”

Paulo Mallari

Paulo Mallari

Department of Primary Industries (Business Systems Analyst).

"I started initially at the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) as an intern as part of the SAP Work Placement program. Then, I was offered a Business Systems Analyst post for SAP HR/Payroll in Dec 2004. Currently, I do the same job at the same office; the only difference now is I work on the Oracle HRMS, which is another ERP system. I am happy about this as I’m getting an exposure on the two ERP giants.

I’m particularly satisfied with the outcome of my course. The integration of SAP Work Placement into the Master of ERP program has opened doors to apply the knowledge I acquired from those long lectures and demanding tutorials. Although I realised that the corporate world is totally different from the Graduate School, the subjects I took (specifically the SAP HR module) has given me a strong foundation to understand the business processes of my team and how the SAP HR module works. The first few months on the job were very interesting as everyday I had the chance to validate and compare the things I learned from university. There were even times that I imagined myself in those four walls of the classroom listening to my lecturer about exactly the same thing that I do at work. It was great!

DPI offers a very friendly and flexible working environment and because of this I was able to integrate myself into the team very easily. Presently, work has been both highly challenging and demanding but I learn a lot. I am confident this will lead to greater heights in the ERP world. "

Mustafa Manager

Siemens Ltd (SAP Consultant).

"I completed my Master of Business in Enterprise Resource Planning Systems. Due to the knowledge & experience gained from the course I have been offered two roles as a SAP Analyst / Consultant. The first job was with Buena Vista International (Melbourne) where I worked for a period of 14 months. While working there I was offered the role of a SAP Consultant at Siemens which I accepted and am currently working at.

I believe the business exposure from the work placement at Toyota Australia has also been one of the main reasons for my career achievements as it gave me exposure to the business aspects and the usage of ERP systems in businesses today."

Roy Li

Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (SAP Specialist)

"I joined the DEWR Graduate Program in 2005 as an entry point into the Australian Public Service. The program provided an excellent opportunity to undertake an array of training relevant to work in the Australian Public Service, whilst opening up opportunities for future work across various departments.

During my second placement I was fortunate enough to be part of a SAP team, which maintained and improved the FI, HR, BW and SEM system. The rotation gave me a completely invaluable experience to gain a broad exposure to different SAP areas of the department. I was able to utilise different skills I gained at university, because involved in interesting and challenging issues and worked with dedicated and skilled people. Experiences such as this have allowed me to progress to a position of responsibility in a very short time, whilst continually drawing from training and experiences gained under the program.

Just before the end of the program, I won a position as a SAP Specialist which reviewed and coordinated department's strategic plan for SAP upgrade of the mySAP ERP. My plans for the future involve attaining professional qualifications as a SAP Consultant & Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and gaining on-the-job training in my time in the Australian Public Service.

The DEWR Graduate Program is highly challenging, rewarding and good fun. It is an excellent base to start a career and provide a fantastic opportunity to make new friends and networks across the Australian Commonwealth Government. So far I have enjoyed my time at DEWR and find the work enjoyable and interesting and I am looking forward to meeting the challenges ahead."

Vijay K Ragavan

Oxygen Business Solutions (SAP HR Functional Consultant)

"Usually industry experience is entirely different from what we study in colleges and universities. However the ERP course at Victoria University is one hundred percent industry-oriented.

In my present SAP consulting career, I'm not lost in any of the concepts and modules that I work on due to the fact that the course gave me a hands-on experience in almost all of the generalized functional areas within SAP HR. I now realise the importance and appreciate the course structure and its broad coverage. This helped me to gain solid SAP exposure and build my career."

Rajiv Pandey

Fujitsu Australia (SAP Integration Consultant)

Rajiv is currently employed as a SAP/Integration consultant with Oxygen Business Solutions (part of UXC Ltd).

Rajiv was exposed to the latest SAP technology while completing masters in ERP systems at VU The work placement program greatly assisted his interest in SAP NetWeaver and paved the way to his current position.

In answering the question:

“How did Victoria University assist you?” Rajiv replied:

“The ERP course at Vic. Uni. is logically designed with full flexibility. Students have the opportunity to choose from Functional and Technical areas of SAP as per student interest. And on top of that, the work placement program is quite helpful to give students exposure to industry where they work on real life projects.”

Admitting that workplace culture and demands are different than those at University, the VU course is comprehensive enough to meet the complex demands of industry.

“ Projects are very much aligned with what we do in the professional world”.

Rajiv is continuing to focus on SAP XI and the latest XMII integration technology

In 2007, Rajiv left Oxygen Business Solutions to join Computer Science Corporation (CSC).
